After more than 12 years working across the Australian construction industry, including with companies such as Shape Australia, Ironside and Lansky Constructions, Chander saw firsthand how much time, money and effort businesses invest into tendering, often without any certainty that the project will ever be won.

He also saw subcontractors learning estimating the hard way. Missed scope, incorrect allowances and pricing mistakes could turn a successfully won project into a loss. Too often, business owners were forced to build their estimating knowledge through costly mistakes while spending nights and weekends trying to keep up with tender opportunities.

That is where D&C Estimate began, not as an estimating consultancy sitting outside a client's business, but as an extension of their own team. D&C provides estimating resources already familiar with Australian drawings, takeoffs, BOQs and tender documentation, who can then be trained around each client's rates, suppliers, templates and way of working.

Chander brings experience across building, supervision, project management and estimating, while co-founder Dinesh brings an engineering background from infrastructure projects.

Together, they built D&C to become the engine room behind a contractor's estimating function, providing trained capacity, strong processes and people who can grow into the client's business.
